Dot Londoners to Try During London Food Month

June sees the start of the inaugural London Food Month, a time for us to enjoy all of the culinary delights that the capital has to offer. To make your choices easier, we’ve scoured through the London Food Month’s programme of events to see what our Dot Londoners are hosting.


From kids making meatballs, to a vegan-only night, to a pasta making masterclass, there’s a lot to choose from to delight the foodie in you. The details of the events are courtesy of the London Food Month’s Official Programme.


Palatino – Friday 2 June

Itameshi dinner at Palatino – with Stevie Parle and Elizabeth Allen

Stevie Parle and former Pidgin head chef Elizabeth Allen are teaming up to cook an “eccentric” special four-course Itameshi dinner at Palatino in Clerkenwell – a mash-up of Italian and Japanese food. Itameshi is full of bold flavours and respect for ingredients.


Balls & Company – Saturday 3 June

Meatball Madness!

The kids will love this class as they’ll get squishing meatballs into patties, making fun-shaped polenta chips and a sauce from scratch. A dessert of chocolate truffle balls will go down a treat. They’ll feast on their own efforts at the end, knowing they did it all themselves.

Crab Arrabiata Masterclass with Roberto Reatini

Join Frescobaldi for a masterclass on the secrets to making fresh pasta and Tuscan cuisine with head chef Roberto Reatini. Includes prosecco on arrival, an hour-long class on how to make traditional, authentic Italian pasta from scratch, and a three-course lunch to reward your hard work in the kitchen.

A little love in your tummy: One beautiful thing from six different countries

A five-course menu plus a sweet treat at the end. Each dish is designed to make you go “ooh” and create maximum comfort for the diner. From Andi Oliver – chef, musician, queen of the supper club pop-up, pub landlady and well-loved TV personality – who has opened her first restaurant in Stoke Newington.

Afternoon Tea

A new and exciting way to taste Afternoon Tea, with Uzbek style food and vodka-based cocktails. If you don’t fancy the vodka, try one of the teas on the restaurant’s extensive list.


Flat Three – Monday 15 June

British farmed, foraged and fermented: A plant-based tasting menu and vegan drinks pairing evening

Led by specialist Miles Irving, Flat Three celebrates the best of spring plants and foraged British vegetation by hosting a special vegan-only night of seven courses paired with appropriate wines, sakes or house-made juices inspired by Japanese, Korean and Nordic cuisine.


Sardine – Sunday 18 June

Fruits de mer garden party

Sardine is celebrating its first birthday on June 18 with an outdoor garden party in the beautiful surrounds of the Parasol Unit and Victoria Miro art galleries. A £35 set menu will include tarts and salads followed by crabs, mussels, langoustines and a free cocktail from Clo Lataille.


Yardarm – Monday June 19

Leyton Loves Food!

E10 has more than its decent share of chefs, bakers, vintners, brewers, makers, roasters and food lovers. On Monday June 19, at a special London Food Month event, local resident Grace Dent, in collaboration with Yardarm of Francis Road, draws together some of the postcode’s brightest talent for an evening at the exciting new Leyton venue Host.

Make your own Liqueur

The masterclass will show you how to use rose, hibiscus and violet to make a vibrant, unique liqueur. This liqueur will then be used to make a simple, sparkling aperitif and a twist on an Aviation cocktail.

Manti Masterclass with Hus Vedat

Join Yosma for a masterclass in making the traditional Istanbul street food favourite manti, hosted by executive chef Hus Vedat. Hus will help you create Turkish delicacies. You’ll then receive a goodie bag with a Yosma apron and a mini bottle of raki.

Basque Cuisine at Eneko

Three-Michelin starred chef Eneko Atxa showcases Eneko’s inventive interpretation of traditional Basque cuisine. Combine the delicious Torrija, the famous Basque vanilla sponge and traditional ice cream with a glass of Arima Late Harvest sweet white wine from Eneko’s own winery.
